Never knew such list existed, but it sounds downright cool.
According to their press release, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) announced that :
“Past and present headliners Robert Pattinson, Johnny Depp, Halle Berry, Thomas Edison, Alan Greenspan, and Steven Spielberg are among the list of “Unexpected Musicians” in the world of film, television, politics, business and science, unveiled today by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM). Celebrating music makers and promoting music education, NAMM revealed the notable list, known as the Unexpected Musicians Celebrity Database, as part of the fourth annual National Wanna Play Music Week, May 3-7.
National Wanna Play Music Week is the leading initiative each year for NAMM’s Wanna Play? public awareness campaign, which recognizes the numerous benefits that music making can offer people of all ages. The week-long celebration of music making features initiatives designed to educate the public on the proven emotional, social and physical wellness benefits of making music, and to encourage people of all ages to pick up any type of instrument and learn how to play.
“NAMM created the celebrity database as another way to help fans find unexpected musical inspiration from personalities they know and admire,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM, and lifelong drummer. “These personalities are famous for other accomplishments, but they are also musicians, which goes to show that you can do anything in life and also possess the talent to make music. There’s truly a music maker in everyone.”
The extensive list includes professional athletes, actors, politicians, business leaders, and more. From novelist Stephen King’s skills on the electrical guitar to actress Meryl Streep’s lesser known accolades as a violinist, the detailed database gives fans the opportunity to find out just how talented their favorite celebrities really are. The catalog of musical celebrities lists the instrument played as well as background information on each personality.

Rob and Kristen Support Sam Bradley

J-14 has exclusive coverage of Sam Bradley's gig in Vancouver. Rob and Kristen was spotted in the crowd.
J-14 was hanging out in Vancouver, Canada, this weekend... and decided to check out Sam Bradley's show at Richard's on Richards. Sam is best known for his hit song, "Never Think" -- yup, the one from the chart-topping Twilight movie soundtrack performed by Rob Pattinson. He co-wrote the song with his pal Rob.
The sold-out show kicked off with opening acts The Get Down and The Darcys (both have incredible catchy music -- check 'em out!) and the packed room of 750 went nuts as Sam took the stage with his mix of catchy rock songs and powerful ballads (check out "Sea Blue"). The coolest part? He may just be getting started in the industry, but he's already raising money for charity, the Gewa Project, which helps people in rural Tibet.
And not long after the show kicked off, Sam's buddy Rob showed up to support him. Peeking out from the backroom with a black hoodie over his head, Rob rocked out to Sam's music -- and we saw with our own eyes that Rob plays a mean air guitar! The entire time, Rob was having a blast -- his trademark ear-to-ear grin never left his face. He chatted with pals backstage, laughed, and just looked so proud of his friend, Sam.
Rob wasn't the only Twilighter in attendance -- Kristen Stewart also showed up. She rocked out quite a bit herself and when Sam said that T-shirts were available, she screamed along in support.
Both Rob and Kristen genuinely looked like they were having the best time ever -- and made sure the show was all about Sam, not them. Awww! And boy do they have good taste -- we can't get Sam's catchy tunes out of our head.
Bobby Long doesn't want to be asked about Rob

American Indie has an interview with Rob's musician friend, Bobby Long.
He talks about his music, likes, and dislikes, including:
What question do you wish that people would stop asking you?
I wish people would stop asking me about Rob , to a certain extent. Because it's just unnerving when people ask me questions about one of my best friends and expect me to answer them.
I do think it's really nice that all of us in that friendship group are really starting to work. That's really lovely. And we're doing what we love doing. Me, Sam, Marcus, Rob and Tom [Sturridge, a London based actor], we're all working really hard. It's really nice being around each other. We are complete individuals. We're different musicians and very different actors.

Sam Bradley’s Rob Mention at a Nashville Gig
Sam Bradley performs Too Far Gone a.k.a. Never Think, and mentioned about Rob.
Here’s a great video that was posted of Sam the other night doing “Too Far Gone” and stopping (at about 1:35 into the video) to tell how the girls that it was written about called him that day cause she saw him on TV. He said “NOW she wants to talk…” and then states “I think she just fancies my other friend to be honest”. When the crowd laughs, he follows with, “Ah, you don’t know him”. Totally charming!
